Property DetailsRef: BRAY1
Bray View, with its sister properties Nessa Cottage and Barn Cottage, form West Bowithick cottages, set in their own spacious shared grounds, having private picnic tables and a large garden including a children's activity play area. This row of four character cottages (one is used by the owners) has an interesting history, having once been a Cornish farmstead and then, when Davidstow airfield was an active military base, Nessa Cottage was the local dentist's home. Sited in an area of outstanding natural beauty these lovely cottages really offer a taste of the authentic Cornish countryside. With just the local wildlife, neighbouring ponies and sheep for company and beautiful views to the nearby Tors, you will immediately feel the benefits of this idyllic, peaceful location. A short drive over the moorland at Crowdy Reservoir, where ponies and their foals wander freely, brings you to world famous Tintagel and the beautiful surfing beach of Trebarwith Strand. With the renowned harbour villages of Boscastle, Port Isaac and Padstow being just a few miles further afield, no matter what the weather is like, there is entertainment for all ages nearby. For a large family or group of friends wishing to holiday in Cornwall the cottages can be booked together whilst still enjoying personal space.
Bray View is an interesting compact cottage/barn conversion, suitable for a couple or small family. It has an open outlook from the front over a gravelled area with picnic table and to the shared gardens and children's activity area. Entrance into this quaint, former farm building is through a practical porch area, offering storage for walking boots, pushchair etc. A long hallway then offers access up two steps, to the open plan living/dining/kitchen area, with a high vaulted ceiling. Large sofas flank a coffee table and media centre with views through two windows to the gardens. There is an attractive pine table with comfortable chairs, which is adjacent to the L shaped kitchen. This whole area is filled with light and is spacious and welcoming. The flooring is Delabole slate reflecting the genuine local character of the cottage. The hallway gives access from one step up to a small compact bathroom with WC. Further along the hallway and up a single step, is the pretty cottage style double room which in turn gives access to the bunk bedroom. Everyday comfort is further ensured throughout the cottage with oil fired central heating. The cottage also has its own spring water which is treated through a filtration system before use. This lovely Cornish cottage offers a practical and economic base for a small family.
