The Lodge At Myrtleberry - Lynton & Lynmouth
|
The Lodge at Myrtleberry is in a truly idyllic spot, which although adjacent to the owners own property is very secluded. Surrounded by steep wooded hillsides it has a lovely lawned garden leading directly to its own private section of the tumbling East Lyn River (please take care with children). Fishing permits are available on the river up and down stream and at certain times of year it may be possible to fish directly from the property for a small charge. Approached down a steep private lane the graveled driveway provides ample parking alongside the lodge. The main entrance has one step down into the attractive kitchen/dining room newly fitted with white units complimented by wooden worktops and offering views over the garden. A spacious inner hall gives access to the rest of the accommodation. The delightful sunny living room with large picture windows features a wood burning stove housed in a brick fireplace and has a door into the garden. With the sound of the river meandering nearby this is a perfect spot for al fresco dining or just relaxing after a busy day exploring. One step up from the hall leads to a spacious double room, a comfortable twin room and further compact double room all served by a modern shower room and separate WC. If you are able to tear yourself away from this wonderful spot keen walkers will find an abundance of woodland, coastal and moorland footpaths leading literally from the doorstep. Situated on the coastal edge of The Exmoor National Park the surrounding areas are home to a huge variety of birds and red deer. The National Trust House and tea rooms of Watersmeet are a ten minute stroll along the river bank and Lynmouth's good selection of harbour side pubs, restaurants and shops are just a mile and a half away. For a complete change of scene the surfing beaches of Croyde and Woolacombe within forty minutes drive. Perfect as a base for exploring the stunning landscapes of North Devon, The Lodge at Myrtleberry will undoubtedly become a firm favourite and it will be difficult to leave.

"A wonderful restful tranquil place for a week of re-charge. Spotted the heron in the river early every morning, squirrels playing on the bridge and a group of deer just up the hill!"
