Clean, spacious and comfortable. Made very welcome and a cream tea awaited us on arrival. Had a two week stay and was offered clean sheets etc on middle weekend and another cream tea (or a bottle of wine). Lovely and quiet, easy reach (15minutes) to Bude.

We had an enjoyable week staying at Monks Rest. Tony was very friendly and welcoming and the cottage was very comfortable. The 95 bus from Bude can take you to many locations along the coast so you can walk back along the coastal path. Waterproofs are advisable as the weather can change so quickly. For eating out The Rydon Inn and the Molesworth ArRead morems are nearby and serve very good food. Also thank you for the scones, jam and clotted cream treats. Hide

A lovely stay, welcomed by a proper Devon scone with jam and cream. Thank you. Great open field for the dog to run around in. The cottage was clean and comfortable with good amenities. The local roads are a challenge as they are very narrow, but we survived. The host Tony was very friendly and made us feel welcome.

Set in a lovely area, the Monks Rest has everything that you would need. We particularaly liked the fact that there weren't endless instructions as there are with some self-catering cottages. We were given the run of the farm and our dog liked her walks around it. Really enjoyed our stay!
