This beautiful cottage makes the ideal base for a group of friends or family to enjoy the stunning Devon coast and the lovely village of Beer. It has bags of character with room to sleep eight plus one canine companion, and is less than 300 metres from the beach. The garden is fully enclosed with space to sit and relax together over a drink or an al fresco dinner.

The former lace shop has been tastefully updated with attractive interiors, and retains lots of its original charm and features. Entering the spacious hallway, go through to the galley kitchen, with everything you need and a handy hatch to the lounge/diner. Kick back on the plush sofas in the lounge, where there’s exposed stonework, wooden beams, and a cosy wood burner that your canine companion will love. Two of the four bedrooms are on the first floor - a double and a twin - along with the large family bathroom and a separate WC. The other two bedrooms are on the second floor - a double and a twin - and a second bathroom. The enclosed garden has garden furniture and a gas BBQ, perfect for dining alfresco, and a lawn where kids and canines can play.

Beer is a pretty village on the Jurassic Coast and has a shingle bay where fresh fish is landed daily – you can also book a mackerel fishing trip from the beach in the summer. There are pubs, cafes and restaurants in Beer serving delicious local produce and seafood. Head out for a wander along the stunning coast path for breathtaking views' Beer to Branscombe is a 5-mile circular trail. For a fun family outing, head to Bicton Gardens (13 miles), Crealy Adventure Park (16 miles), and the Sidmouth Donkey Sanctuary (5.5 miles).

Large family holiday home with a good atmosphere, nice location and a usable garden. Overall amenities were okay but the decoration and cleanliness of the cottage were disappointing. The toilet plumbing also needs close attention. With some work I would recommend this property but not currently.

A lovely location and the cottage is large and spacious with a great garden. It is in desperate need of some tlc and making good to justify what is being charged. The toilets hardly flush, the showers leave a lot to by desired (I would get more water out of a watering can), and it needs a really good deep clean. It doesnt show on the marketing photRead moreos but the cottage is tired and shabby. I would not go back. Hide

It was a lovely cottage & perfect location to spend a long weekend with friends. Some fabulous coastal walks & pubs nearby. Cottage was missing a few essentials (bin bags/ washing up tablets & liquid), but the extremely comfortable beds & linen made up for it! Would highly recommend!
