Enjoy a relaxing stay at this charming cottage on a quaint street in Appledore with plenty of space for six friends or family plus their four-legged friend, an enclosed patio, and a cosy electric fire. It’s in a great location close to The Quay, pubs, art galleries, gifts shops, a fish and chip shop, and restaurants.
The 200-year-old cottage has style and charm with contemporary design and original artworks complementing the original features. Enter the spacious porch and go into the gorgeous living room with space for everyone to relax in front of the wood-burner-effect fire. Next to it is a beautiful dining room with a big oak table and French doors to the patio. It connects to the stunning contemporary kitchen, with a large Range oven. Upstairs are three gorgeous bedrooms: two lovely bright king-size rooms and a spacious twin, plus the family bathroom (with a wooden floor thought to be from an old ship’s deck!). Take your drinks outside to the enclosed courtyard where there’s an outbuilding where you can store your crabbing buckets and fishing nets, and a handy WC.
Head to the beach at Instow, a family favourite great for swimming and kayaking (1 mile by foot and ferry). Westward Ho! (2.5 miles) beach has two miles of sands to explore and is ideal for rock pooling, body boarding and surfing. Go crabbing at the quay (about 200 metres away), explore the area’s history at the North Devon Maritime Museum, and play a round at the Royal North Devon Golf Club (2 miles), the oldest course in England. Pick up the South West Coast Path in the village for a picturesque walk along the River Taw then head along the coast.
