Peacefully situated on a traditional sheep farm, just a short walk from the centre of the Exmoor village of Bratton Fleming, this beautiful barn has been carefully converted to retain much of the original character. The surrounding countryside is breathtakingly beautiful, and the barn offers a spacious and comfortable base to explore Exmoor and the magnificent coastline in this special part of Devon.
Inside, original features such as feature stone walls, attractive arched doors and exposed beams add much character to this rural bolthole. The good-sized, beamed, open-plan living room has a feature fireplace with a wood burner which, together with central heating, provides year-round warmth. An attractive arched doorway from the living room gives access to the shared, fully enclosed rear garden area. All you could need to cater for friends and family can be found in the modern kitchen that has plenty of room for dining too. On the first floor, there is a spacious double bedroom with an attractive apex ceiling, and a twin bedroom with sloping ceilings and Velux windows – each room has wonderful views across the Exmoor countryside. Outside, shared garden areas surround the property with plenty of space for relaxation and al fresco dining.
The owner welcomes guests to roam the farmlands to take advantage of the rural tranquillity that is a haven for wildlife, including the famous Exmoor deer. The nearby village of Bratton Fleming, with its small general store, is 0.5 miles away, and delightful walks along local footpaths and bridleways are all close by, including the Millennium Green which offers circular woodland walks, an enclosed children’s play area and an assault course. The market town of Barnstaple, with its pannier market, shops, pubs and restaurants, is just 8 miles away, and the picturesque sandy coves around Combe Martin and dramatic Exmoor coastline are within a scenic 10-mile journey.
