Sitting literally on the waters edge in this delightful quayside village, perched above the shore and with panoramic views over the Torridge Estuary and out to sea this former fishermans cottage has been skilfully converted to provide a stylish and comfortable holiday retreat. Tucked away in a quaint courtyard the stable door opens into a hallway with slate tiled floor and leads to three attractive bedrooms all served by a stylish bathroom with travertine tiling and slipper bath. Taking full advantage of the splendid views, the open plan living room with kitchen and dining area is on the first floor. With a contemporary nautical feel to complement the surroundings, it has comfy sofas and a modern well equipped kitchen and dining area. Dual aspect windows make the room light and bright and a French door leads out onto the spacious sunny terrace perfect for relaxing over a meal or drink. There is always something to see as sailing boats from the nearby Instow Yacht club, fishing boats and motor boats criss-cross the water and the antics of seagulls and cormorants keep you amused. A parking permit is provided for the public car park on the quay just a 3 minute walk away. Although this property does not allow pets please be aware that the owner uses the cottage with her own dogs. Appledore has a good selection of galleries , craft shops, pubs and restaurants beside the picturesque quay and a maze of narrow alleys with flower decked old fishermens and boatmens cottages immediately behind. Close by you will find the seaside resort of Westward Ho with its two mile stretch of sandy beach and the heritage and character of Bideford Town where you can take a boat trip to Lundy Island. For families The Big Sheep and Milky Way are nearby and the cobbled harbour village of Clovelly is well worth a visit.
