Work has now been completed on the new 1.2m Pavilion at Lynmouth. It replaces the original 1930’s building which has been derelict since 2001 due to safety issues although great effort has been made to retain much of the original character even using parts of the old framework. Jointly funded by the Exmoor National Park Authority, Devon County Council and the Heritage Lottery Fund – the state of the art attraction will be open all year round and is hoped to be a real asset to the town.
Adjacent to the famous Funicular Cliff Railway, the new Pavilion has an education and visitor centre on the ground floor including an audio theatre showing spectacular commissioned aerial views of Exmoor. On the top floor lunches and delicious cream teas are available in the café whilst enjoying views over the bay.
