Daffodil Day at Hartland

Published: Friday 7th Mar 2014

The North Devon weather forecast for next week sounds great – so why not take a trip out to Hartland Abbey. Sunday 16th March is Daffodil Day.  The delightful displays include original bulbs dating back 150 years and recently rescued varieties from a nearby development. The Abbey grounds also have splendid displays of camellias, hellebores, wild primroses and a variety of early spring flowers.

Lundy Island can be seen from the South West Coastal Path which runs through the estate, leading to the beach and old cottage where Sense and Sensibility was filmed. Delicious homemade refreshments are available throughout the day from the tea rooms to reward weary wanderers.

The Abbey can be found 15 miles equidistance between Bideford and Bude off the A39 Atlantic Highway and just 5 miles from the popular fishing village of Clovelly.
