Curry on the beach?

For once the husband had an evening off work, the kids are off school and the sun was shining so I was treated to dinner out in the week!

This was a lovely treat in itself but imagine my surprise to discover we were finally going to enjoy dinner on the beach.

Yes, throughout the summer on Barricane beach in Woolacombe, the beach cafe serves their delicious Sri Lankan food from 5pm to 7.30pm ( as long as it's not raining).

For us, we had the choice of meat or a vegetable curry (plus a mild or hotter version) served with Dahl curry, cabbage and coconut curry, plus rice and poppadoms. It was delicious! And at £8.95, very reasonably priced.

The kids chose from baked potatoes and a range of sandwiches (but smaller portions of their curries are also available).

It was great tucking into our meal, sitting on the picnic blanket, basking in the warm summer sun looking onto the sea. I can't believe I have lived in North Devon for over 2 years now and have only just discovered this. We'll definitely be back!
