Wrapped in beautiful rolling Devonshire countryside, this property is somewhere you can escape the hurly-burly of everyday life and enjoy the serenity of your surroundings. The cottage sits on an 80-acre working farm (which is part of the Higher Level Environmental Scheme), 11 miles from Exmoor National Park and 8 miles from Eggesford and some of the oldest Forestry Commission woodlands in the UK. The woodland and the moors are perfect for hikers, walkers, cyclists and horse riders. It also suits those who simply want to kick back and relax, perhaps with a swim in the shared heated swimming pool (open mid-May until the end of September).
In fact, if you like to stay active, you have even more choice on-site: enjoy a game of table tennis or pool in the shared indoor games room or challenge your loved ones to a game on the shared tennis lawn. After all of that, you can refuel with a hearty meal prepared in the well-equipped kitchen, or make use of the BBQ and eat out on the patio or in the garden. The open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner is filled with warm tones and traditional features that make it the perfect place to enjoy quality time together.
The ancient town of Torrington (17 miles) has a number of attractions; the home of Dartington Crystal where you can watch the incredible art of glass blowing as well as picking up some bargains, and the RHS Rosemoor Gardens, with its beautiful floral displays as well as trails and activities for children, not to mention being the site for a number of family-oriented open-air theatre productions in the summer.
Please note, during the Covid 19 pandemic the shared pool will be offered on a rota basis and a limited amount of games shall be available outside and not in the games room.
