Thornewidger Barn is a spacious and beautiful property nestling in 9 acres of grounds in rural North Devon. Boasting space for 12 people, the converted barn is perfect for large groups or families, and celebrations. You are ideally placed to explore both countryside and coast, while the accommodation itself has plenty to keep the whole family entertained on-site too, including a games barn with pool table, darts and table football.
The stunning stone facade of this traditional Devon long barn greets you on arrival: a warm rusticity that continues inside where exposed beams stonework and cosy touches adorn each room. The lounge/kitchen/diner is wonderfully light and airy, with room for everyone to kick back and get stuck into a DVD on the deep, inviting sofas next to the crackling wood burner. If you’d prefer somewhere quieter, perhaps to read a book or enjoy an aperitif, there is another smaller lounge on the ground floor. The kitchen is well-equipped with everything that you could possibly need to prepare delicious home-cooked meals, then gather together at the large dining table, or even outside on the patio to make the most of the long summer evenings.
The market town of Great Torrington (6 miles), has a good range of shops, restaurants and pubs. The lovingly-tended gardens of RHS Rosemoor (8 miles) are just outside the town which occasionally provides a summer venue for family-based open-air theatre productions and music. On the coast, there are picturesque fishing villages to explore, such as Appledore (10 miles) and the steep cobbled streets of Clovelly (12 miles). Near Clovelly, there is also the Milky Way Adventure Park (8 miles) which offers a range of fun activities for all the family.
