Tucked away on the coast on the spectacular Rousdon Estate, this home is perfect for family reunions by the sea. Wander from your door and marvel at the breathtaking scenes of The Undercliff Reserves where you can tread the South West Coast Path and enjoy relaxed picnics. After days in the great outdoors, enjoy a relaxing soak in the bathtub and glimpse sea views to help you unwind.

At this lovely retreat you’re met with traditional style and neutral tones. With all you need to cook feasts for family and friends, the kitchen has a range-style cooker and a table where you can sit to cook up dinner or dine. Throughout the home, a simple style invites you to relax and enjoy quality time together and natural light adds a fresh, calming ambience. The lounge has plenty of room for everyone to settle and get comfortable in front of the TV and the wood burner-effect electric fire can transform the space into a snug haven. After a peaceful sleep in one of three first-floor bedrooms (one reached by further steps), take your morning coffee outside and sip it al fresco in the gorgeous garden amid 350 acres of gorgeous grounds.

Escape to fill your lungs with salty air and make the 4-mile trip to the golden shores of Lyme Regis. Lining the promenade are places to sip cold drinks, whet your appetite and entertain little ones and the historic Cobb Harbour is a picturesque spot to pass by. Stretch your legs on the South West Coast Path which boasts awesome ocean views and leads into Devon where the dramatic coastline continues and can be admired at Seaton (5.5 miles).

  • Arrival: 17:00 onwards
  • Departure: before 10:00, unless otherwise stated in your arrival details
  • 2 dogs allowed. Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week
  • There is an Accidental Damage Deposit of £250 when booking at this property, however this may be waived for £30. We’ll provide more details about this when booking your holiday.

This property is part of the impressive Rosden estate the location is simply gorgeous and very tranquil. There was private parking and a huge plus was that there was a gate to make the grounds of the property including the garden completely dog-safe. Our two dogs loved the garden. The beds were comfy and the house was well-appointed for AxeministerRead more and Lyme Regis. The house could have been cleaner and the garden was overgrown a bit but all in all a lovely holiday. West lodge in Rousdon is set in an out standing estate, we had some lovely walks but couldn't go on to the private beach due to a landslide, but that's nature. West lodge had everything we needed for our holiday, it was lovely and clean , the beds were comfortable, and the towels were soft and fluffy unlike some we have used in the past. Spacious lodge. Really warm when heating kicks in. Great for larger families with dogs. Plenty of equipment to be self sufficient. Great closed off garden and loads of walking around estate for dogs, plenty of poo bins. It was a shame we couldn't do the coast walk due to a landslide but understandable- means we can return in the future.

We stayed for a three-generation holiday during October half term., second time we had stayed there. The house is an attractive building, I would guess constructed about 1900. Despite original features such as single-glazed windows it was warm and comfortable. The Rousdon Estate is nice to walk around with minimal traffic on its private roads. We dRead moreid not venture to the nearby beach. Lyme Regis and Sidmouth beaches are easy to get to as is Sidmouth donkey sanctuary. A good place for family hol. Hide

Large roomy cottage on 3 levels, with enough room for 6 people. Kitchen well equipped and the lounge comfortable. Bedrooms are large and certainly comfy beds. Great location and excellent walks.

Great location, we enjoyed our stay there a lot. - The house was well equipped but our beds were very narrow. Some surfaces and handles were a bit sticky but OK after brief wiping. - Owner not supportive of electric charging at the house, but the surrounding charging infrastructure proved to be sufficient.

We had a nice holiday in this nice old lodge house on a beautifully situated estate overlooking the English Channel. We really enjoyed the walks and the peace and quiet of the estate.

Lovely location on the Rousden Estate lots of great walks with the dogs and a great base for the area . Cottage lovely but is in need of some updating and general spring clean !! I know its an old property but there was damp smells in kitchen cupboards and a damp feel about the house . All the equipment was there that we needed . The provision of equipment in general was excellent with many items provided which helped a lot whilst settling in there. Also the cottage was very comfortable. However we did think that the Christmas price tariff was a little high.

The cottage was comfortable, beds were also comfortable, just needs a bit of updating and work here and there.
