This cute dog-friendly cottage is situated in the quaint and colourful fishing village of Appledore in a prime spot for a peaceful seaside holiday. You only need to step outside the front door for a taste of the fresh North Devon sea air as this property sits on the picturesque seafront. Light the BBQ and soak up the summer sun with friends and family in the cottage's rear courtyard or stave off the winter chill in front of the cosy wood burner in the lounge.

Inside the cottage, the soft pastel marine tones create a beach hut feel and serve as a real reminder that you are staying at the seaside. The large, original windows at the front of the property draw in plenty of natural light, giving the whole house a bright and airy ambience. A contemporary kitchen joins onto the dining room offering more than enough space to cook and even more to serve up dinner. Cottage-style stairs lead you upstairs where you will be greeted by three bedrooms split across the upper two floors, two of which offer the most magnificent sea and estuary views.

Across the estuary is the neighbouring beachside village of Instow, a dog walking haven that is a 6-mile drive or a short ferry ride away. Alternatively, the famous surfing beach of Westward Ho! can be found 3 miles southwest. Fancy an extended walk? Then join the South West Coast Path, accessible from right outside your door. However, if you want to stay within the realms of the village then you can tuck into some delicious pub grub as little as 300 metres down the road.

We have just returned from a 4 night break in Appledore. Beautiful house a stones throw from the water and two pubs. We spent two lovely evenings in the Beaver Inn and enjoyed fish snd chips from the tiny shop in Appledore. We were a multi generational group celebrating my mums 89th birthday and she loved it. Although the stairs were steep which weRead more knew when booking she had no issues. We managed to park outside the house everyday. House is cosy and well equipped. We did not want to leave. Hide

Lovely house, great location with beautiful views. Only downside is the parking, we were lucky and got parked outside but would imagine it being a problem in the height of summer.

I can't recommend this property highly enough. It is cosy and well equipped, extremely well situated with the beach on 50 metres away and all the amenities of Appledore within easy walking distance. The only potential drawback is the lack of parking; we pre-purchased a 7 day parking permit so that we could use the nearby carpark but on many occasioRead morens were lucky in finding spaces on the street. We will certainly be making a return visit. Hide

Lovely property in a great position. Close to Appledore centre and all the great pubs and eateries etc. We went in early July and there was little opportunity to park outside of the property. Not a problem for us as we simply bought a weeks parking in the nearby carpark for 30. If you want to park outside you will have to compete with day trippers,Read more locals and people staying the length of irsha street. The sunsets across the estuary are stunning. We would certainly book again. Hide

This is our second stay in Mira Mare. We love the house and location and it has everything we need. It really is our home from home. The sunsets we were able to view from the house were just fantastic and Appledore has a good selection of eateries to choose from. All in a perfect place to stay.

Very spacious and comfortable accommodation. Great quiet location with fantastic views of estuary and lifeboat. We have stayed in several cottages in Appledore and this is definitely the best so far and certainly big enough for 6 people. All bedrooms a good size with room to move around. Downstairs very spacious and well equipped.

The showers/ toilets were clean. However, floors in the kitchen/ utility, skirtings, door handles, kitchen pans/ oven pans, backs of doors weren't clean. Lovely house, great location but could do with a spring clean. Felt like I was staying in an airbnb, in someone's house that they'd left for a few days rather than a holiday let house.
