In an enviable spot overlooking Brixham’s famous harbour, this character cottage is perfectly located for a relaxing seaside escape. You’ll find the cottage tucked away from the main buzz of the town, nestled at the end of a quiet road, making it a delightfully peaceful stay for a family of six. From the pretty patio garden, you can drink in the fabulous views over the inner harbour bowl, whether it’s with a cup of tea in the morning sunshine or sundowners as the day draws to a close.
Wake up to the incredible sight of the sea from the master bedroom, or on cold autumnal mornings, enjoy it from the lounge as you cosy up in front of the wood burner. The property is surprisingly spacious, with a dining room that seats six which leads through to the kitchen via one step up. On the second floor, a double bedroom lies in the eaves of the house, so guests should be aware that there is some reduced head-height and the bed is accessible from one side only, but it does boast its own reading room, kitchenette, and shower room - great for giving a couple their own space.
Like much of South Devon, Torbay is known for its beaches, and thanks to the English Riviera’s microclimate, the sea is usually warm here. Make the most of it and paddle in the waters at quiet St Mary’s Bay or the secluded Fishcombe Cove, both within 2 miles of the cottage. Brixham itself is lined with interesting shops and galleries for you to explore, as well as restaurants that feature heaps of fresh seafood caught locally.
