This gorgeous semi-detached character cottage dates back to 1679, has been lovingly fitted and furnished in a fresh yet in-keeping style and provides a comfortable base for couples and walkers.

Situated less than half a mile from Brixham Harbour and the South West Coast Path, this charming property promises an idyllic escape to guests. Spacious and bright, this welcoming cottage is an opportunity to relax and unwind in stunning surroundings while having access to plenty of things to do right from the front door. Take a stroll along the coast path to Berry Head Nature Reserve (2 miles) or visit the Brixham Heritage Museum (160 metres) to discover the town’s fascinating history before heading over the road for a drink at the local pub.

Whether you’re off rockpooling at Fishcombe Cove (1 mile) or you’re enjoying a book on the sunny patio, everyone will find their happy place here. The interiors embrace the blue and white tones of the ocean and original features like rich wood beams and exposed stone, and there are lots of little coastal details dotted throughout. The open-plan living area is bright and airy during the day, but it becomes a cosy haven in the evening when you light the wood burner and snuggle up on the sofa in front of the Smart TV.

Get ready to explore the English Riviera with a steam train and riverboat cruise with the Dartmouth Steam Rail and River Boat Company from Paignton (5.5 miles) where you’ll chug through spectacular scenery to Kingswear, hop on a ferry to Dartmouth and enjoy a circular river cruise. Paignton Zoo is also well worth checking out. If you’re more of an adrenaline-seeking group, go on an exciting journey through hidden coves and coastline on kayaks with Sea Kayak Devon (5 miles) and picnic on beaches only accessible by water.

A wonderful cottage for a break - easy walking distance into town with shops, pubs and restaurants and the harbour. The bedroom is particularly lovely with a cosy bed and quality linen. Everything you require in the kitchen which has been equipped with care and thought. The little enclosed courtyard is a suntrap from morning until late afternoon (iRead moren June). You get used to the church bells after a while! Hide

Cosy cottage which had everything I needed for a rejuvenating solo trip. And a welcome bottle of wine on arrival! Great to have parking included as it seems a bit difficult in Brixham. The cottage is situated close to the harbour amenities and restaurants, which was great.
