Situated on the owner’s grounds, 1 mile northwest of the charming village of Northlew, this lovely barn conversion is a perfect year-round getaway for friends or families. Within walking distance of the shop and pub, you’ll be wonderfully secluded from the rush of the modern world in the midst of quintessential Devon countryside. The castle town of Okehampton and Dartmoor National Park are just 8 miles away. 13 miles southeast at South Zeal, on the edge of the moor, lies a 12th century Benedictine Monastery, now a fine pub near a Neolithic standing stone.

The welcoming ambience inside is of open-plan space, light and comfort. A lot of love has gone into this sympathetic conversion of a rustic building. The ground floor has a hallway for wet coats, a spacious king-size double and fresh twin bedrooms. On the first floor, the exposed beams, wood burner, mid-century fabrics and furniture beautifully retain and enhance the country style. The bright kitchen is well-appointed and streamlined. The balcony doors offer a splendid light-source that floods the lounge, and outside there’s a beautiful rattan seating area with sumptuous, elevated views.

There’s so much to do and see all around. Visit the gem that is RHS Rosemoor Gardens (18 miles), Launceston Steam Railway (19 miles) and the imposing Castle Drogo (23 miles). There are stunning coastal towns and beaches within reach in Devon and Cornwall, such as beautiful Bude (23 miles), traditional Clovelly (25 miles) and adorable Appledore (28 miles). Discover the secret Hawker’s Hut at Morwenstow (29 miles) and you’ll never want to leave. Travel 30 miles to find the rugged Hartland peninsular, quay and lighthouse.

Beautiful cottage has everything and more, pure comfort. Even with a baby there was plenty of room. Views were stunning. Warm welcome even though it was raining on or arrival. Cottage lovely and clean and fresh. A delightful stay would highly recommend for those after a quiet retreat with lovely views and relaxed atmosphere.

Amazing cottage tucked in a quiet location. Superb views over the fields from the balcony. The owners provided everything you could need. The cottage was very comfortable and beautifully presented. Great place to explore the coast and Dartmoor from. We didn't want to go home!

Little Norley was the perfect spot for us to relax and unwind. We had plans for most days and would head out and be back by dinner time but on the days where we needed rest we were quite comfy watching a movie or playing games. It was very hot that week but relatively cool inside due to the thick outer walls. We had everything we needed for cookingRead more and the crockery, cutlery, utensils and bedding provided are all of good quality. We had a wonderful stay for our week in Devon. Hide

A beautifully appointed and stylish conversion with great upside down living. Comfortable beds with great amenities inside. Beautifully remote location, but ideal to base for exploring Devon & Cornwall. Lovely local pub which was welcoming, but the walk is not for the feint of heart, and we didn't attempt it in the end - the road is a single track Read morewith many potholes and incredibly steep hills to navigate. Owner's were welcoming and knowledgeable of the area! Great pubs locally and a drive away. Hide

The cottage was pretty & clean inside but the outside was very tired & needs repainting. The picnic bench was unusable the wood & canopy were green with mould & there was loads of debris underneath it. Was disappointed that the grass was so long in the field where the dogs could be let off & one of them sprained her back leg as she fell down a consRead moreealed hole. The walk to the village pub was a good 20 minutes up & down a single track VERY steep hill so not for the faint hearted! Isolated location Hide

Gorgeous cottage, spotlessly clean and a real home from home. The owners were very friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend this property. Would also recommend Brickyard Farm Shop, great butchers. Wouldnt recommend walking the length of Fingles Gorge unless you are very fit and want a hard walk
