To the south, Dartmoor National Park (15 miles) with its miles of trails winds through valleys with Neolithic tombs, Bronze Age stone circles and abandoned medieval farmhouses. To the north, Exmoor National Park (20 miles) is famous for its wild ponies, hilly walks, mountain bike trials, horse riding and climbing. But when you feel in need of a bit more civilisation, the Roman city of Exeter is just 15 miles away offering historic sites, fine dining, theatre shows and sporting events.
