Three-storey property located in the heart of Westward Ho! with two miles of golden sandy beach to enjoy, this is the ultimate property for the whole family to enjoy their summer holiday.

Situated under half a mile from the beach and the divine Northam Burrows Country Park, this delightful abode is perfect for your southwest de-stress. Ride wild waves with the North Devon Surf School (0.5 miles) and lower handicaps at the magnificent Royal North Devon Golf Club (1 mile), England's oldest course. Visit charming Appledore (3.5 miles), with its excellent maritime museum and lovely pubs, eateries and galleries. Bideford (4.5 miles) is blessed with superb independent shops, restaurants and arts and crafts boutiques. At low tide, Instow beach (5.5 miles) is blissful for dog walks or sunset pub soirees; from April-October there's a ferry from Appledore. Kids will love the Big Sheep theme park (2.5 miles).

Inside you'll find a light, fresh and vibrant interior, with a jaunty nautical feel. Gather for gregarious nights or bright mornings in the beautifully minimal lounge/diner and spill out into the enclosed garden to reminisce with a glass of wine or plot new excursions over hot coffee and croissants. The bright, tiled kitchen has sweet mid-century styling and there's a handy ground-floor WC. The first-floor king-size bedroom is a relaxing haven and up in the second-floor crow's nest, the master king-size bedroom is a maritime dream, washed in shades of sand and sea and crowned with a wonderful en-suite. Beach and ocean views from the top floors are sublime.

Find sumptuous sands at Saunton and Braunton Burrows (18 miles), Croyde (21 miles), Woolacombe (23 miles) and Ilfracombe (24 miles). Clovelly (12.5 miles) is an exquisite fishing village, frozen in time, tumbling down cobbled streets to the sea. Explore the wild Hartland Peninsular (17 miles), with its lighthouse, abbey and quay. Catch trains from Barnstaple (11 miles) to Exeter, Newquay, St Ives and Penzance. Adventures await!

The location of this property is fantastic, very handy for all of Westward Ho! THe guest parking is always full but the carpark down the road is very reasonable on a weekly rate. THe property is perfectly proportioned for a small family. The beach for dogs upto October !st is a quite a hike and you need to watch the tides. Lovely house in an excellent location. We really enjoyed our stay here. Bedrooms are good size. The enclosed garden was perfect as we were travelling with our dog Kitchen was well equipped for a self catering stay. Location was great, just a short walk to the beach. Plenty of local restaurants and bars to choose from.

We enjoyed our week in this cottage. It's in the centre so you have everything on your doorstep. Parking is great and plenty of room for us and the dogs and the back garden is a bonus when you have dogs. Nice and warm on chilly nights, nothing not to like. Baby gate on the bottom of the stairs is a genius idea to stop the dogs going upstairs.

Comfortable and well equipped house. Close to sea front but worth noting that between may and September dogs can only go on the north part of the beach which could be difficult for guests with limited mobility. A nice touch by the owners to leave welcome packs of teabags, biscuits and dog treats, thank you!
