Walk, swim, surf or build sand castles - the choice is yours, with this superb seaside cottage as your base. Located in the small coastal village of Mortehoe, it’s just metres from the beach and surrounded by beautiful countryside, making it a perfect getaway for large families or groups of friends.
Beamed ceilings, exposed stonework and original fireplaces point to the historic character of this lovely cottage, complemented by stylish furnishings and fittings. Enter into the spacious kitchen, which includes a breakfast bar for a coffee or an aperitif, then take a step up into the pretty dining room, where there’s a wood-burner-effect electric stove to add warming atmosphere. The welcoming lounge, similarly equipped with an electric stove, is decorated in charming, soft colours, and includes a Smart TV. Steps lead up to the sleek family bathroom, and then to a beautifully decorated king-size bedroom with gorgeous sea views and an en-suite shower room. On this floor there are also a double and a twin bedroom, while the top floor boasts another twin (with a Smart TV) and a single bedroom, plus a shower room and a separate WC. The decked area outside features comfortable furniture for al fresco dining. This is the place to enjoy stunning sea views, or else head down to the courtyard to relax on the outdoor furniture and enjoy the newspaper or a drink from the ‘backyard bar’.
Mortehoe offers pubs, a shop, tea rooms and a restaurant, and you can clamber down to a beautiful small cove known as Grunta Beach. Walkers will enjoy the 6-mile walk from the car park to Morte Point and then Bull Point, with scenic views and the chance to spot seals, birds and other wildlife. The excellent beach at Woolacombe is just half a mile away.
