This beautiful retreat is set on a wonderful complex of cottages within the ever-peaceful heart of the North Devon countryside, where you can truly take in the tranquillity of country life. Keen walkers and cyclists are well placed to join the Tarka Trail, which offers picture-postcard scenery as well as welcome food stops and watering holes along the way, whilst the South West Coast Path offers a change in sites but will still leave your jaw dropping with those commanding coastal views. For those who fancy venturing a little afield, Clovelly (17 miles) is an idyllic cliffside village with steep cobbled streets leading down to the harbour. Meanwhile, beach lovers will have a great time on the 2-mile golden sands of Westward Ho! (12 miles), while the stunning scenery of both Dartmoor and Exmoor are within 30 miles.
One of seven cottages on site, this semi-detached cottage is beautifully converted from the original farm barns. This charming home hosts lovely, traditional exposed beams, and offers contemporary country style throughout. Starting in the downstairs lounge/kitchen/diner, you'll immediately find yourself in a well-thought-out lounge hosting a sofa and additional armchair, and an electric fireplace – a great space to relax in front of the TV. This area is part of the main open-plan space that includes the kitchen/diner, where guests will find all the appliances needed for a stress-free stay and can relax together for those laid-back family meals. When the night draws in, retreat upstairs to your choice of two bedrooms, one with a king-size bed, and the other handily offering up something different with a twin room. Completing the cottage is the family bathroom, where you'll find a shower over a shorter-length bath.
At the front of the cottage, you'll be able to enjoy a private and fully enclosed garden with lawn, patio and outdoor seating for all. You also have direct access to a well-kept, shared garden, an ideal space for all the children to play together – and that’s just the start of this stunning countryside escape. You are also free to enjoy the multitude of family attractions on site, including animal enclosures where you can meet alpacas, a miniature donkey, pygmy goats, pigs, chickens, rabbits, guinea pigs and even a goose, alongside enjoying the gnome garden, indoor and outdoor play areas, fairy walk, stream and woodland paths. Meet the owners each morning for the daily animal feed, egg collecting and tractor ride. There is a total of 8 acres of grounds to discover. Parking for one car plus additional parking is available on request.
