An impressive array of child-friendly attractions that includes well-stocked play areas, cute small animals to feed and tractor rides makes this delightful country cottage the perfect location for a family holiday in glorious North Devon. The semi-detached property is one of a small group of beautifully converted barns set on a peaceful, 8-acre site, and sleeps four guests, along with two canine companions.
The character cottage has exposed original beams and a thoughtfully designed open-plan living space, furnished in a charming blend of country and contemporary style. Relax on two comfortable sofas in the lounge area before the wood burner-effect electric fire. There’s a well-appointed kitchen, plus a rustic dining table and chairs. Upstairs are two inviting bedrooms: a king-size in gorgeous shades of blue beneath a vaulted ceiling and a twin with fun pops of colour. Completing the layout is a family bathroom with a shower over the shorter length bath. Outside, a private, enclosed garden to the front of the cottage has a lawn, patio and seating. The extensive, shared garden offers woodland walks, a stream and large indoor and outdoor play spaces for young and older children, together with a menagerie of animals; among them, miniature donkeys and rabbits.
The lively town of Torrington, with independent shops, eateries and the historic, twice weekly Pannier Market is just 4 miles away. Drop into the excellent Plough Arts Centre to enjoy events for the whole family and take a walk or bike ride along the scenic Tarka Trail. For further family fun, head to The Big Sheep theme park in pretty Bideford (7.5 miles). The vast expanse of golden sands at Westward Ho! is within 10 miles, while the tranquil Tamar Lakes (15 miles) are ideal for lovers of water sports.
