Offering cosy and tastefully furnished accommodation in a secluded rural spot, perfect for up to eight guests, this delightful hideaway makes a fabulous getaway for walkers, cyclists and nature lovers. The nearby village of Sandford has a welcoming inn dating back over 300 years, ideal for unwinding in after a day following the Sandford Heritage Trail. The market town of Crediton (4.5 miles) has a range of great shops and pubs, alongside a museum and a farmers’ market, and is close to the tranquil Shobrooke Park, a lovely spot for picnics (4.5 miles). Heading south, the edge of the stunning Dartmoor National Park is just 10 miles away, offering miles of breathtaking walks, with highlights including Finch Foundry, Blackingstone Rock and Castle Drogo, all within 18 miles. Other local attractions include the Devon Railway Centre, Eggesford Forest, Barley Valley Nature Reserve and Poltimore House, all within 16 miles.

Reached along country lanes, this delightful cottage was originally built as a Devon Long House in the 15th century with a ‘modern’ extension built around 1945. There is a window placed in the roof of one of the bedrooms, so that you can see the soot that was deposited around 500 years ago. Upon entering you’ll head through to the open-plan lounge/snug. The cosy lounge area is full of character, this lovely room has ample, comfortable seating, a traditional wood burner set in an impressive stone inglenook, and a charming window seat. The snug area has additional seating and a TV for an evening's entertainment. Exploring further, the fantastic farmhouse-style kitchen/diner has a welcoming country-style dining table perfect for family feasts that you can prepare in the beautifully organised and fully equipped kitchen area. There are also glass doors leading from here out to paved steps and onto the lawn area. The ground floor also has a WC. Upstairs, you will have a choice of four bright and cheerful bedrooms: two king-size and two twin rooms. There are two bathrooms: a refreshing main bathroom with a bath and separate shower, plus a handy en-suite shower room. Please note that there are some low doorways and sloping ceilings.

Heading outside, there is a sunny patio offering a charming space for a BBQ. This space features plenty of outdoor furniture and lighting for alfresco suppers. Steps lead up onto a delightful, enclosed lawn, perfect for sunbathing while children can run and play in the field. Off-road parking is available for three cars.
