Be charmed by the classic good looks of this quaint cottage in Beer. In a lovely location, it has easy access to the village shops and pubs as well as the beach, all within 0.5 miles, which is brilliant if you’re bringing your four-legged friend. With three versatile en-suite bedrooms it makes a great base for two couples, a group of family or friends keen on exploring the Jurassic Coast and wider East Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. At this comfortable and stylish cottage, complete with its suntrap courtyard and easy parking, you can truly switch off and recharge your batteries.

This terraced, stone cottage was built in the 1830s for the village school’s headmaster. Today, it retains lots of character but is tastefully decorated and furnished throughout. A small but handy porch leads into the open-plan lounge/diner with its cosy vibe, lower beamed ceilings and exposed stonework. Modern life is here too with sofas, a wood burner effect electric fire, a TV and a country-style dining table seating six. The beamed kitchen offers contemporary cupboards and conveniences as well as a skylight. Upstairs, over two storeys are the en-suite bedrooms, two kings and one twin (although one king-size can become a twin by arrangement). The small enclosed courtyard garden to the front makes a great place to sit and relax as you watch the world go by.

Head to the pebbly beach and watch the small fishing boats head out to sea or land their catch. Potter about the village shops or grab an ice cream, coffee or take the day off catering for yourselves with a treat meal out. The pretty Jubilee Gardens are a lovely place to take the dog (on a lead, please!) or have a picnic with the backdrop of the stunning cliffs behind Beer Beach.
