Situated in a tucked away position in Bickington this character Grade II listed cottage is the ideal place to enjoy a family holiday. The open plan living/dining room has a three seater sofa and two comfy armchairs which surround a wood burner in an inglenook fireplace, adding character and warmth during the winter months. Reflecting the character and age of the property a steep staircase leads to the double, twin and single bedded rooms, which are all served by the family bathroom. A small fitted galley kitchen is well equipped and has views up over the garden. There is a washing machine and freezer in the brick garden out building adjacent to the back door and handy outside hanging space for wetsuits in the undercover porch area. Steps lead up to the large enclosed garden with patio area, picnic bench and a good sized lawned area, ideal for children’s play. An attractive summer house gives a nice relaxing space to enjoy a glass of wine after a busy day. Sunnymead is located off the main road but is only a short walk to the local pub, convenience store/post office and bus stop which is just at the end of the lane. The busy market town of Barnstaple is just 10 minutes drive and has a theatre, cinema, good range of restaurants, shops and the famous Pannier Market. Many delightful walks can be enjoyed from the property or a 10 minute drive will bring you to the seaside village of Instow with its dog friendly beach, pubs and restaurants. For those wishing to travel further afield you will find many other attractions including the Blue Flag beach at Westward Ho!, The Big Sheep family attraction and The Milky Way Adventure Park. The nearby scenic and car-free Tarka Trail provides a safe, level and easy cycle route (bicycles available to hire locally). Stop off for delicious refreshments at the popular Fremington Quay cafe. The wide surfing beaches of Saunton, Croyde and Woolacombe are across the river and all easily accessible in under half an hour, as are the glorious high moors, deep valleys, hills and woodland’s of Exmoor National Park.
