Hillside and The Barn offer 5 star quality accommodation for up to 12 people, split between the main house sleeping 10 and The Barn sleeping 2. Situated just outside the picturesque and popular village of Croyde with its large sandy cove that is a magnet for families and surfers alike. A local character pub serving meals is half a mile down the road with a further choice of pubs, cafes and restaurants just beyond in the centre of the village itself.

Hillside is an impressive five bedroomed detached home which has been extended and renovated to create a desirable holiday home, lovingly furnished, tastefully decorated and equipped for comfort and enjoyment by the owners. The approach to the house from the driveway is up a few steps. An attractive glass and wood vestibule to the side of the house has a beautiful tiled floor whilst a fabulous wet room is at the rear of the vestibule, ideal for rinsing away the sand under the showers when you have just come back from the beach. The beautiful living area benefits from a wood burning stove set in a part exposed stone and brick alcove with slate hearth. The dining table offers seating for ten, great for getting together to discuss plans for the next day's activities over an evening meal and glass of wine. The triple aspect kitchen space has been thoughtfully designed with granite worktops, contemporary white units and stone tile flooring. The hob is located in the central island and the kitchen is very well equipped. French doors open out onto the split-level patio terrace complete with outdoor table, perfect for al fresco eating. A series of terrace lawns landscape the hill (so take care with young children on the slopes). A separate, smaller second living room/snug with a two-seater sofa, at the front of the house, offers a quiet retreat for reading should you wish.  One of the superb bedrooms is located downstairs across the hall from the snug.

Upstairs there are a further four bedrooms all with beautiful 'original' wooden flooring. The generous master bedroom and a second sumptuous double room both have en-suite facilities. Each bedroom has been elegantly decorated and all bedrooms enjoy countryside views. Two of the bedrooms offer the option of either Twin or Super-king to provide flexibility sleeping arrangements. A high-quality bathroom with tongue and groove panelling, free standing slipper bath and separate large shower serves the other bedrooms. If you find you are able to tear yourselves away from Hillside, there is so much to do and see in this very popular part of Devon.

The Barn has recently been converted and sits alongside Hillside, with its own parking and separate entrance, it provides the perfect ‘quiet’ retreat away from the main house. The barn has been stylishly decorated and furnished throughout, benefitting from oak & tile flooring, underfloor heating and beams. A good sized entrance hall leads into the open plan kitchen/dining area with fully fitted kitchen. Thoughtful design means there is plenty of space for preparing meals on the granite work surfaces to enjoy around the dining table or alfresco.  The super king size bedroom with additional sleeping on 2’6’’ day-bed is on the ground floor. Off the entrance hall is a wet room with a pretty ceramic-tiled floor, WC and Croyde theme shower. A stylish oak staircase leads from the kitchen/dining area up to the living room above. Countryside views and sea glimpses can be enjoyed from the comfy seating within or by opening the full width bi-folding doors stepping out onto the South facing enclosed patio with table and chairs. There is a separate enclosed patio with steps down to the front of the Barn/driveway.

Quality accommodation just outside Croyde village. 3 generations of my family enjoyed the stay and surroundings, only a short drive to the picturesque village and lovely beach.
