The shops and cafes in Braunton are a few hundred metres further, and from the village, you can also access the Tarka Trail and enjoy miles of beautiful scenery on foot or by bike on level pathways on each side of the Taw Estuary. For beach lovers, the spectacular sandy beaches of Saunton or Croyde are 4 and 6.5 miles respectively. Alternatively, head off in the other direction to picturesque waterfront villages such as Appledore (15 miles) and Instow (10 miles) or the market town of Barnstaple with its shops, cafes, bars and pannier market, just 5 miles away.
