This lovely large semi-detached Victorian house situated on the outskirts of Ilfracombe boasts coastal and country views. In an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty this is an ideal location for picking up the South West Coast Path along this spectacular and rugged coastline. Ilfracombe town itself is within walking distance, and this now boasts several excellent eateries and pretty gift shops, towards the harbour, with its colourful painted houses and boats, is just under half a mile away.  

The local swimming pool is just over the road and the little cove of Hele Bay can easily be reached within a short walk. Ilfracombe also has an out of town Tesco store if you require a home delivery, a cinema for entertainment and the local golf course is only a short drive away, known for its ‘see the sea from every tee!’

This is an attractive family home and a great base for a holiday. As you park at the top of the property you have a short path with steps that take you down to the front porch.  The main door with its original stained glass takes you into the hallway with the Victorian tiled floor and boasts lovely high ceilings with chandelier.  Enter the dining room with its Victorian feature fireplace, wooden floor and welsh dresser, you then walk through to the kitchen with its selection of cream units, gas range cooker that will provide all the necessities needed for family cooking.  The rear door leads out to the enclosed patio area and utility area housing a washing machine and tumble dryer, as well as a WC and washbasin.  The main living room with its red brick fire place, has large windows to enjoy the coastal views, and a selection of comfy seating with sofas and easy chair.  A door leads out to the patio/decked area with seating where you can enjoy the most amazing views out to sea and also the harbour below, ideal for that evening glass of wine after a full day on the beach or sightseeing. 

The large mahogany staircase takes you up to the landing with its roof light and chandelier and a selection of four bedrooms to choose from, two of the rooms have sea views.  Two of the bedrooms provide a zip n link option offering the flexibility of two 2”6 twin beds or King.  Also, on this floor you also have a separate WC. The bathroom has a bath, shower, washbasin and WC. There is also a second shower room.

A well maintained tiered landscaped garden with several sitting areas is accessed either from the rear enclosed patio outside the kitchen ideal for that morning cup of coffee or from the living room with its stunning views.  The lower garden has a children’s outdoor swing/slide combination (available to use supervised and at the parent’s discretion). This area also has a gate leading the path that joins the road to take you towards the harbour.

Accommodation: Ground Floor: Entrance porch/conservatory.  Hallway. Kitchen with gas range, dishwasher, microwave, fridge/freezer Dining room with wooden table and chairs, feature Victorian fireplace. Lounge with smart TV, Blu-ray DVD player, Wii console and games, sea views.

Bedroom two with King size bed (zip n link option on request to split to 2”6 twin beds) and sea views.  Bedroom three, with King size bed (zip n link option on request to split to 2”6 twin beds), smart TV. Bedroom four with King size. Bathroom with bath, separate shower, washbasin and WC. Second shower room.  Separate WC.

Beechwood is a fantastic well appointed property and if you don’t mind a few hills then access to the town centre is only a 15min walk. The house comfortably supports 8 adults and a dog, a well equipped kitchen with ample crockery cutlery for 8+, dining and lounge seating for same. Bedrooms are very comfortable and with two showers and three toilets there’s not a long queue in the morning. The garden is secure for a medium to large dog however I suspect smaller breeds will need closer watching around gates and perimeter hedges.
