This spacious country property in rural Devon is fantastic for a multigenerational family trip or celebration among friends offering a vast number of accessible adaptations throughout to make life as easy as possible for parties with disabled guests.  It’s surrounded by pretty farmland so has spectacular views, and is around 7 miles from the nearest beach. Graded ‘exceptional’ by the National Accessibility Scheme, this attractive barn conversion is also extremely well suited to older and less mobile guests. With six bedrooms and ample socialising areas, including an expansive outdoor area with a hot tub/5.5m hydra pool, this gorgeous property can sleep up to 12 guests. You can bring up to four dogs, too – they’ll love racing around on the grass area while you sizzle up a delicious BBQ with an extra sausage (or four) thrown on!

You’ll enter into the characterful Great Hall, perhaps the most impressive room in the house with its high roof and wooden ceiling beams. This space is set up for relaxation, with sofas and, with its lovely inglenook fireplace, a cosy wood burner you can stoke up on chilly evenings. As you explore the property, you’ll notice a number of accessible features, including arm rails, a wheelchair lift and wet rooms for showering.  All the bathrooms have been designed with wheelchair users in mind, with roll in showers. . A separate lounge with a TV creates another spot for kicking back, while in the large kitchen/diner you can cook up huge meals enjoy them around the large wooden dining table. The outdoor space is ideal for al fresco dining – why not have a scenic picnic around the private lake. A changing room is on hand so you can dip in and out of the pool and hot tub with ease.

You’ll have a pub and shop within 3 miles of the property and plenty of excellent attractions in the nearby area. You’ll find beautiful sandy beaches at Woolacombe (4 miles) and Saunton (7 miles), as well as the surfing mecca of Croyde 6 miles away.

Beautifully appointed and very comfortable. Provision for all levels of disablement but maintaining luxury. Better than the photographs, my family had a wonderful time.

Excellent property, with excellent facilities having the use of ceiling hoists in holiday accommodation was an added bonus. Pool and hot tub was well used by all the party. This was our second stay at Otter Pool Barn. Our adult son has a complex physical disability and the property has an amazing level of accessibility and equipment for those with physical disabilities. We stayed as a large family group and found the property ideal for family get together. We loved the pool and made full use of the lake which was ideaRead morel for paddle boarding. Brilliant place to stay my wife who has MND cant walk or move but we could get her electric wheelchair around the house with no problem The facilities for disabled people were second to none it made our holiday very relaxing We even got her in the hot tub
