Enjoy elegant coastal living at this charming Georgian retreat. Children and pets will have a ball in the garden and there’s a dramatic coastline on the doorstep for your party of four to discover. Tall shuttered windows, a traditional fireplace and high ceilings hint at the history of this family- and pet-friendly holiday cottage, located at one end of a former vicarage.

A tasteful mix of traditional and contemporary, the property emphasises together-time with a spacious open-plan living room with gorgeous garden views. The lounge area is a welcoming space for families with plush armchairs clustered around a cosy wood burner and a TV' to the rear, a neat kitchen and dining area accentuate the homely atmosphere. Stairs lead from here to the first floor, where you’ll find a double and a twin bedroom and a family bathroom. Guests have shared access to the original walled garden, which has outdoor furniture and is big enough for games on the lawn. Enjoy al fresco dining and drinks under the stars – you’re surrounded by beautiful scenery.

Historic Mortehoe is home to pretty cottages, a 13th-century church, a museum and welcoming pubs. Work up a thirst with a walk on Morte Point and you might spot Atlantic grey seals basking on the rock. South of the headland is the beach at Woolacombe (1.5 miles), its golden sands a safe place for sandcastles, swimming, surfing and sunbathing, while less than 6 miles away are the culinary and cultural delights of Ilfracombe' don’t miss the famous Tunnels Beaches, which turned this once-small fishing village into a favourite Victorian seaside resort.

Lovely comfortable property in a quiet location few minutes walk from the village. Ample parking and good sized enclosed garden for dogs/kids. Good coastal walks from the property and lots of sandy beaches to visit on foot or by car. We enjoyed our stay.
