A charming stone cottage with ceiling beams, bags of character and panoramic views of the glorious Exmoor National Park is perfect for a family getaway. This lovely property sleeps four guests, plus up to three dogs, and is set in a lovely, shared garden on a 47-acre working farm. Pretty Parracombe village and the spectacular North Devon coast are within easy reach, as well as wonderful dog walks across Exmoor. Extras, shared with two neighbouring cottages, include a games room, children’s play/picnic area and an enclosed meadow where pets can romp off lead.
Hidden at the end of a private farm track, the cottage overlooks a beautiful valley with far-reaching rural views. A vaulted ceiling with beams, whitewashed walls and a wood burner create a country setting for the airy, open-plan living/dining/kitchen area. A lovely double bedroom and shower room complete the ground floor, with a spiral staircase leading to a delightful, mezzanine twin bedroom. Outside, guests have their own picnic table and a shared patio with seating, a BBQ and wonderful views. A shared, enclosed grassy courtyard with garden furniture houses the games room.
Parracombe (2.5 miles) has a popular country pub serving food and a fine community cafe and shop selling local produce. The wild Exmoor uplands are on your doorstep, and a footpath from the cottage leads to the beautiful Heddon Valley: look out for rare butterflies and buzzards here. Take a ride on the steam engine train from Woody Bay Station (4 miles) for a scenic journey on the Lynton and Barnstaple Railway through the lovely countryside. Picturesque Lynmouth Harbour and the twin village Lynton, with its famous funicular train and spectacular views, are within 7 miles, while the beach at Combe Martin (6 miles) has kayaks and paddleboards for hire.
