Description

KNELLE LODGE APARTMENTS – SAUNTON.

As you take the turning to Saunton Beach the breath taking view of golden sands and surf cannot fail to impress – and this view is yours for the entirety of your holiday at Knelle Lodge Apartments!

Overlooking the impressive three mile expanse of dunes at Braunton Burrows, designated a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and with views across the ocean towards Hartland Point, the apartments are superbly located to take advantage of the beach facilities just a couple of minutes’ walk away!

Apartment 1.

This high quality, spacious apartment has stunning views towards Saunton Sands beach and the magnificent white waves of the Atlantic Ocean as they break along the shore.

Sleeping six, there is plenty of room for everyone.  High ceilings, wood flooring and light clean décor give an airy and spacious ambiance.  As you explore each room you will appreciate the quality of the fixtures and fittings and the added extras including Lavazza coffee machine and Ruark radio.  The kitchen is a great social space with an extra large dining table and ample seating. This is a wonderful room for family and friends to excitedly plan the day during breakfast or look back on the day’s adventures over an evening meal.

Large wooden work tops create plenty of preparation space and white units provide light and bright storage facilities.  A large Belfast sink adds an unusual but useful touch, whilst a pretty chandelier delivers on elegance.  Triple aspect windows give views to the rear as well as the side and front of the property.  Large French doors lead out onto a verandah where you simply sit to admire the view or watch the children as they play on the communal lawned garden.

The living room is adjacent and can be accessed two ways, either directly from the kitchen or from the hallway.  Equally stunning views can be enjoyed from this room especially from the arched window seat which nestles itself into the bay window.  For cooler seasons cleverly designed skirting heating below still means this is the best seat in the house!  A large corner sofa, TV, and wood burner make this a pleasant, relaxing and cosy room. Large double glazed sash windows throughout help retain the original character. The master bedroom on the ground floor has a super king bed and also benefits from an en-suite bathroom with shower attachment.  Fabulous panoramic views over the dunes to Hartland and the sea can also be enjoyed from this light and spacious room. A further shower room with walk-in shower is also available. Bedroom 2 has a zip ‘n’ link super king which can be made into twin beds on request.  Windows to the side and front give views over the garden, sand dunes and sea. A built-in wardrobe provides useful hanging space.

Sturdy stairs and ornate wooden hand rails lead up from the hallway to bedroom 3 on the first floor. A tall ceiling and large window above the stairs creates a light open space.  Bedroom 3 is again a good size with twin beds.  Sea views from this room look out in the direction of the southern headland to Croyde Bay and also Lundy Island.  Full central heating is provided throughout and an intercom system is connected to the main entrance.

Outside, an adjoining utility room houses a Belfast sink, electric heater, fridge/freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer and handy additional walk-in shower.  At the back of the property there is secure storage for wet suits and surfboards with a handy external cold shower.  To the front, 12 steps lead down from the verandah to a communal lawn area.  A couple of minute’s downhill walk brings you straight to the beach.  With 3.5 miles of golden sands there is plenty of space to call your own.  Whether you are a toe dipper or fully fledged surfer, the fabulous waves create great fun for all the family and there is a world of fascination for junior explorers delving into the rock pools. Racing up and down the backdrop of sand dunes will also help to burn off any excess energy!

Saunton is a family and pet friendly location particular popular with water and beach sport enthusiasts. Light refreshments and snacks are available from the seasonal Saunton Break Café whilst the Beachside Grill provides meals up until 9pm (check website for winter opening).  Local hotel facilities are nearby. Beach Huts and deckchairs can be hired on a daily basis (in season) and for those wanting to take the plunge wet suits, surfboards and even surf lessons are available.  Set within an UNESCO Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Saunton is also ideal for those wishing to explore Braunton Burrows, enjoy a long beach walk to Crow Point or even play a round on the famous championship golf course nearby.

A 10% reduction is available when all four of the apartments in Knelle Lodge are booked as a group – please call our office.
