This charming tucked away terraced cottage is stylishly presented whilst retaining its original character and is a great North Devon bolt hole for couples or small families together with their canine companion. In the heart of the village of West Down, July Cottage is convenient for the popular Crown Inn, a 17th Century freehouse and also the well supported community village stores. Close to the cottage is the community field were your four legged friend can stretch their legs, there's even a dog shower awaiting those muddy paws on their return!
The cottage is well located for guests to visit the golden sandy beaches of Woolacombe and Putsborough, both around a 15 minute drive away and ideal for surfers and beach lovers with its rolling, unbroken surf and views out towards Lundy Island. The high moors, deep valleys and sparkling rivers of Exmoor National Park beckon for other memorable days out. The harbour town of Ilfracombe with Damien Hirst’s bronze sculpture Verity, its many individual shops, cafes and restaurants is nearby and well worth a visit too.
Approached via a pedestrian walkway, entry is via the porch. Behind the stable doors is an open plan kitchen/dining/living room with central staircase. On one side of the room is the kitchen and dining area, complete with tiled floor. There is a well fitted kitchen with a dining table set to the rear. The living area has oak flooring and a feature fireplace with log burner, ideal for cosy evenings. The cottage has a Smart TV and there is space under the stairs for a dog basket.
Upstairs is an attractive double bedroom, with exposed beams and oak latched door. Across the landing is a modern bathroom with ¾ compact bath with fitted shower over the bath. In addition there is also a well-presented children's room with approx. bed sizes - bottom single bed 6' 6" x 2' 6" and raised single bed 5' 7" x 2' 6" with bed guard).
Opposite the cottage is an enclosed slightly raised terrace where guests can sit and relax. The cottage also benefits from its own ‘beach’ garden with unique outside seating and this is located a few yards away down a shared path, which also leads to the community field.

A lovely clean and pretty property in a very nice location near to all the best spots North Devon has to offer. Also away from any busy roads so completely peaceful.
July Cottage was very comfortable and in a lovely location with walks direct from the doorstep. There is a well stocked village shop a short walk away and a couple of dog friendly pubs also close by. Beaches were only a short drive away and the dog shower in the cottage was put to good use!
Good central location for visiting all the local beaches/towns. Small but comfortable cottage with good quality furnishings. Village pub on the doorstep with good food & service. Need a car to get around but lots of lovely places close by. We had a lovely break and our two dogs had a great time and even a nice shower to wash off all the salt and sand, would definitely recommend July Cottage.
Lovely quirky seaside cottage. Tastefully furnished, well equipped and very comfortable. Within easy reach of Woolacombe and Croyde with fantastic beach and coastal path walking. Will definitely stay again.
A small but well proportioned cottage , only approachable on foot . Lots of nice touches in the decor . We enjoyed our stay .
