Highfields is the perfect choice for couples or families who like to holiday in peace and quiet yet ant to be within a short walk from the shops, restaurants, pubs and beach in Woolacombe. Situated on a hill on the outskirts of the town, this detached bungalow has been full refurbished and offers an open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, a wide decked balcony at the front with stunning views and two pretty bedrooms. From the drive, 12 steps take you to the front door, then the accommodation is all on one level thereafter. The living area has superb views over Woolacombe towards the award-winning beach, a modern woodburning stove for cooler evenings and comfy sofas to relax in after a busy day exploring North Devon. The well-equipped kitchen has modern white units, an electric oven and gas hob as well as a microwave, integrated fridge and slimline dishwasher. A fridge/freezer is in shed at the rear of the property and there is a storage, drying and utility area in garage (external access only) with a washing machine, tumble dryer and a wet room. The two pretty bedrooms share the use of the bathroom. Outside, at the back of the property there is a lovely decked patio with a lawn. Both the patio and the balcony have outside furniture and there is a gas barbecue for al-fresco dining on a balmy summer evening. Highfields is a short walk to Woolacombe Beach which lies between Morte Point and Baggy Point. This three-mile long stretch of golden sand is renowned for its cleanliness, water quality and facilities and has been voted the number 1 beach in the UK by Tripadvisor in 2015 & 2016. It also holds the ‘England for Excellence Gold Award’ for best family resort and was voted the Best British Beach in the Mail On Sunday.

Loved it! Great place, well equipped, comfortable - wood burner was very welcome in Feb. The shower area in the garage is a good idea, get all the beach off you / your suita before coming up to the house. Front decking is a lovely place to sit and watch the sunset! Would definitely recommend and return.

Please dont ask your guests to strip beds. This is an unnecessary post Covid hangover and given that youre also keeping the very late check in time of 4pm this feels quite impertinent. Stripping beds is a house keeping service not a guest responsibility.

Excellent property. Property location within Woolacombe is excellent but we had not realised the steepness of the hill to the property from the village Could do with a new clothes horse for drying clothes washed in the washing machine as not everyone want's to use the tumble drier & the old clothes horse is very rusty

The property should not be headlined as 2 bathrooms.Acknowledging in the small print you really cannot say an externally accessed wet room in a garage is really a bathroom in a true sense. Further constructive recommendation,the garden furniture on the back decking needs replacing and the cushions to the front rattan need a good clean. Otherwise thRead moree property was well kited out. Further comments,the televisions in the bedrooms would not work(May be batteries need replacing in the remotes. Minor comments,airer is rusty and the mirror In the bathroom ,both need replacing. The literature needs updating. The health and safety and fire assessments need to be done or again paperwork needs updating.The front garden needs some attention.When you arrive at the property it gives a bad first impression. Having said all that we did have a lovely weeks holiday. For the money we paid we would have expected a higher standard. The service from Original Cottages was very good. Thank you Hide

Property was advertised as 2 bedroom & 2 bathroom. This is NOT correct. There is one bathroom, and if you outside, down some steps, open the large garage door, there is a shower ! Not a bathroom.
