To give our cleaners enough time to complete the additional cleaning and sanitising that is currently needed to keep our guests safe, check-in and check-out times at the majority of our properties have been temporarily revised. The revised times for this property are reflected above.
This delightful barn conversion, lovingly restored and completed to a high standard during 2017, offers guests a unique modern living space, designed to take advantage of the stunning Devon countryside views which surround the property.
Barton Barn sits in an elevated position over-looking the picturesque valley with fields, hedgerows and woodland extending as far as the eye can see from the floor to ceiling feature windows in the first floor living room. Whilst hilltop views of the 15th century church surrounded by this traditional Devon village are captured on the horizon. The approach from the country lane brings you up the track past fields, which sometimes host grazing animals.
Once parked, the entrance at the rear brings you into the boot room/utility area, handy for shedding outdoor wear after a countryside ramble or perhaps a drive out to explore all that Exmoor National Park has to offer.
Steps lead down into the expansive kitchen/dining room with glass panelled gallery and living area above it on two sides. The room benefits from underfloor heating, modern appliances and is well equipped for those budding chefs wanting to indulge their culinary credentials. French doors lead out to the enclosed, suntrap terrace, ideal for barbecues and relaxing with a drink in hand after an exciting day out and about.
From the kitchen, a few steps lead down to the spacious master bedroom with Superking bed, lovely countryside views and ensuite bathroom. Upstairs the carpeted living room has comfy seating in front of the modern wood burner. The highlight however, is the huge window which offers those magnificent views all year round. The owners have even left a pair of binoculars and if you catch the moment you may see one of the local barn owls fly past! A double bedroom is also on this floor and has use of the separate shower room with walk-in shower.
A third of a mile away is Bishop Nympton with its community run village shop and post office. The busy market town of South Molton lies just over 3 miles away, providing a range of independent shops, amenities including a twice weekly pannier market and supermarket. Popular village pubs such as those in Molland and Kings Nympton are approx. 6-8 miles away. For special occasions the Michelin starred The Masons Arms is a short drive away. The golden expanse of Saunton Sands which is a dog friendly beach, or the unspoilt natural beauty of Exmoor National Park is well worth an adventurous day out. .
Barton Barn is a fabulous rural retreat which is sure to provide special memories and will leave you wanting to return time and time again.

Amazing holiday cottage. Fantastic views and well equipped, everything we needed and more. We enjoyed sitting outside on an evening watching and listening to the wildlife, the cottage is in a fantastic location. Rachel the owner lives at the farm next door and is great to deal with. Highly recommended.
Lovely property in a wonderful location. Delightful host. Highly recommended.
What an amazing find! Great week – we found the barn extremely comfortable & so well equipped, the location was ideal for the peace & tranquillity away from the city. We are going home refreshed and relaxed. Thanks for the welcome we received.
Nestled in beautiful surroundings with a whole lot of sky! The property speaks for itself, we really can't convey in words just how special it is. We will be back!
The barn is exceptional, very comfortable & very well equipped, one of the best we have stayed in. We have enjoyed the wildlife & trips out especially to Marwood Gardens, really dog friendly! The goodies were delicious and the 2 weeks passed in a flash. Would definitely recommend to others.
