In a peaceful and picturesque location on the edge of the Exmoor National Park this delightful cottage offers a wonderful rural retreat and a great base from which to explore the whole of Devon. Deceptively spacious, comfortably furnished and very well equipped throughout, Dassel Cottage is situated within 16 acres of pasture and woodland and offers wonderful views of the Exmoor countryside . The warm and welcoming living room has a quality leather suite with electric reclining seats surrounding a woodburner in a feature stone fireplace. A spacious kitchen/diner and adjacent utility room provides everything you will need to prepare meals for family and friends and these can be enjoyed either indoors or alfresco style on the rear private patio. A comfortably furnished conservatory leads off the dining area and overlooks the large rear garden and is ideal for quiet relaxation and enjoying the country views.  On the first floor there are two attractive bedrooms and a family shower room. A spacious double bedroom with dual aspect country views has the benefit of additional comfy seating and a twin bedded room across the landing has an adjacent dressing room.   The cottage has an attractive front garden area and an enclosed rear garden giving plenty of space for relaxation, children’s play and space for the dog (Please note that the garden is not necessarily dog proof). A  five bar gate gives access into an adjoining meadow ideal for dog walking and the owner is happy for guests to roam the 16 acres of land surrounding the cottage. The Exmoor National Park with its spectacular coastline, inspirational scenery and miles of public footpaths makes this an ideal location for walkers.  The market town of South Molton, known as the Gateway to Exmoor is just a 10 minute drive whilst the larger county town of Barnstaple offering great shopping opportunities as well as entertainments is only 15minutes away. With the North Devon Link Road just a few minutes’ drive there is also easy access to the sandy surfing beaches of Saunton and Croyde, the rugged coastline of the Hartland Penninsula and onwards into North Cornwall. Everything has been provided for your comfort in this wonderful country retreat whether you wish to get away from it all in a beautiful rural setting or enjoy an active holiday enjoying all that this spectacular part of Devon has on offer.

Lounge with woodburner, Smart TV(Netflix included) and Bluetooth speaker.  Kitchen/Dining room with electric hob and  separate oven, microwave, fridge, large walk in storage cupboard and TV. Conservatory with lounge furniture and door to garden. Rear hall with door to outside. Utility room with sink, washing machine, freezer and storage. Cloakroom/WC with washbasin.  First Floor: Bedroom 1 with King and TV. Bedroom 2 with twin and TV. Dressing room.  Shower room with large walk in shower, WC and basin.

Facilities and Services: Linen and Towels. Oil CH. Complementary basket of logs. No smoking. Wi -Fi broadband. Travel cot, highchair and stairgate available. A selection of books and games available 2  pets welcome. Garden furniture. Water supply from borehole, regularly serviced.   Driveway parking for 2 cars. Short breaks available. 2pm Arrival Time. Arr/Dep for weekly bookings is Saturday.


We had a wonderful stay. Perfect cottage and superb location. Owners were very friendly and great with our son. We were very comfortable, lounge and bedrooms particularly comfortable. Loved the conservatory with the uninterrupted view of the rolling countryside. We loved our stay so much that we have re booked for May half term. We cannot wait to return.
