October Half-Term Cottages
October is a wonderful time to visit Devon for a family half term holiday. The beaches are less crowded, the family dog is very welcome, and the sea is still warm enough for the kids to splash around in or surf the waves. It may be a little cooler, but you can still enjoy family outdoor activities during this time of year like crabbing, rock pooling and building sand castles.
Why not visit one of our award winning family attractions like the Big Sheep, Milky Way or Crealy Adventure Park, all which will have a host of events scheduled during October Half Term for the children to participate in.
It’s also a fantastic time for seasonal produce too, with local cheeses, game, wild mushrooms and traditional ales making an appearance. In Dartmouth, visit the popular food festival which takes place at the end of October half term. Or take your pick from the many weekly farmers markets dotted across Devon, like South Molton, Barnstaple or Exeter and get yourself some scrummy food to take back to your cosy cottage.
And there is plenty of space in the local cafes and pubs for heart-warming meals and much deserved hot chocolates. Plus, many of our cottages have open fires/wood burners for cosy nights in - ideal for those colder evenings.
All our graded and inspected self-catering Devon cottages featured below are available for bookings during October half-term .
