South Devon Coast Cottages

When it comes to holiday destinations in the UK, South Devon always comes out shining. With some of the best weather, the most historically fascinating stretches of coast, amazing walks and wildlife, the South Devon coast proves time and time again that it is a great place to holiday.

Our South Devon coast cottages are stretched far and wide across this diverse stretch of the country, from the popular seaside resorts of Torquay and Paignton, to tucked away hidden gems such as Hope Cove and Kingswear. Choose from boltholes in Brixham, delightful destinations near Dartmouth and bonny cottages in Bantham, our range of locations across the coast and types of holiday cottages is second-to-none!

We also offer luxury and dog-friendly accommodation across the coast, and naturally some of the best sea views! So whether you’re making the long journey from elsewhere in the country, or you’re a south west local looking for a regional retreat, we promise to provide a break like no other in one of our South Devon Coast cottages.

Things to Do in South Devon

The South Devon coast is joined together by the nationally acclaimed walking route, the South West Coast Path. This means that no matter where you stay, you can enjoy walking to a neighbouring town, village, beach or cove, with ease. If you happen to be staying on the Devon borders, either on the south east stretch of the coast near Branscombe, Beer and Seaton, or the south west stretch near Plymouth, you can even use the path to visit Dorset or Cornwall, respectively. Not to mention the amazing scenery you’ll take in along the way!

Naturally, there are no end of amazing beaches and coves along the South Devon coast, all with a different offering. Discover the underground world beneath the shores of Beer, sail at Soar Mill Cove, try your hand at Stand Up Paddleboarding in Seaton, or enjoy the soft sandy shores of Bigbury-on-Sea. Many of the beaches along the South Devon coast are lifeguarded and have been awarded Blue Flag status, making them some of the cleanest and safest in the country, too.

South Devon also has a rich naval history that is still very much a part of cultural life here. The Royal Regatta is held annually in Dartmouth, while a visit to Britain’s Ocean City, Plymouth, allows you to learn about all the major voyages that have happened from the South Devon Coast, including the pivotal Mayflower Voyage to America in the seventeenth century. So if boats are your thing, you’d be hard pressed to find a better holiday spot than this stretch of coastline.

You can find out more about all the many wonderful locations and things to do across this patch of Devon by visiting our South Devon Coast area guides. But this coast is best discovered by visiting it, so take a look at our cottages in the area and get yourself down here – you won’t regret it!
