Description

Breakaway is a lovely holiday home in an idyllic location sitting in the Dart Valley, on the outskirts of the village Galmpton. Brixham and Torbay are nearby and the village pub - the Manor Inn offers good food, it's dog friendly and just a 10 minute walk away along wooded country lanes.

All bungalows on the Galmpton Holiday Park are privately owned and very peaceful and quiet. National Trust properties, such as Greenway (Agatha Christie’s former home) is just a mile away. A delightful house with extensive gardens leading down to the shoreline of the River Dart and the Boathouse, scene of the film ‘Dead Man’s Folly’ starring David Suchet.

Coleton Fishacre, formerly owned by the D'Oyly Carte family is just a short drive way. Stroll through the gardens of this delightful house, through the wooded slopes and you'll reach the South West Coast Path and some wonderful sea views.

It goes without saying that the beaches are fabulous… this is Devon! Broadsands is about a mile and a half away and Goodrington Sands, two and a half miles from the park. It's an easy walk down to the River Dart, around 10 minutes (the return walk may be a little more onerous though!).

Breakaway is a mid terraced two bedroom bungalow with parking, living room and fitted kitchen. A furnished pave patio sits to the front of the property, a lovely spot for breakfast or a glass of wine before dinner.

This is a great little bolthole for 4 and perfect if you're on a budget, it's a real retreat and a pleasant bungalow… the owners will even allow you to take two dogs free of charge!

Reviews

We very much enjoyed our holiday. The bungalow is always clean and well equipped. The garden and views are really lovely, especially all the wild birds that come to feed which you can see from the lounge window. There are plenty of places to visit nearby only a few miles away including Brixham, Paignton, and eateries too. An excellent service all round.

Previous Customer,

We really enjoyed our stay for the second time. Amazing location with the wild birds coming into feed and estuary views. The bungalow itself was clean and well equipped with a good layout, quite difficult to beat as good value for money. Very good service.

Previous Customer,

We enjoyed our week here, had lovely sunshine for 3 days and we visited the whole bay from here. We enjoyed and loved the birds (big and small) outside our windows. P.S thanks for the Devon treats.

Would just like to say what a fantastic place you have here. We have enjoyed every minute of our stay. The birds and views are stunning. Once again, thanks.

A lovely, well equipped home. We loved watching the birds and the pheasant walking around the garden.Loved the steam train, the boat, the bus, the ferry and the regatta. Near to everything. In the evening we loved watching the sun set. Beautiful view and near to the steam train.

We have enjoyed our stay here. The views are wonderful. We loved the sound of the steam train going past. This is a lovely base for visiting the local area.

Enjoyed staying here immensely, wish I'd had two weeks now. Can't fault the bungalow at all. Everything you could possibly want on a holiday. Went out as mush as possible to Brixham, Paignton, etc. Only thing I can complain about is the last two days we had bad weather, pity we can't control it!! But overall we both loved it and we hope we can come back next year, hopefully for longer. Many Thanks.

We enjoyed our stay in your lovely tranquil part of Devon, what an amazing view. An excellent jumping off point for places around the bay. A lovely walk down to Greenways House and up to the Manor Inn. Thanks.

Enjoyed our stay. Well thought out accommodation and equipped for all your needs. Patio has sun all day with a lovely view of the estuary which is an added bonus. Beautiful part of Devon and very central for Brixham, Berry Head, Broadsands, Paignton and Torquay. Beautiful weather during our stay too. Thank you.
