This was our second stay at Oystershell cottage. We had another fabulous stay. For us the view from the cottage is the star of the show and we never tire of looking out across Dartmouth. It is also ideally located for boat trips and the steam train.

Mrs L,

The property was very comfortable and the shower and beds were excellent. The garden was very steep but well worth it because the views were amazing. It was so quiet and peaceful sitting at the top of the garden.

Mr R,

Oystershell cottage is in a fabulous location, with outstanding views from the front of the property and the vertiginous terraced garden. It was very clean and comfortable, and felt like a home. The kitchen is a little rustic but has all you need to prepare a meal. The appliances - including the full size dishwasher - were all like new and worked perfectly. Also the utility room was great for storing gear. There were some very thoughtful touches like a crab net and bucket, a bbq and ample garden furniture. The garden is slightly wild but pretty, with a lovely deck and summer house at the top, and benefits from the sun for the most part of the day. Although the cottage is on the main road to the ferry, there wasn’t much traffic and it was very quiet in the evenings - we could hear the owls hooting in the woods on the other side of the creek. Kingswear itself is attractive with good walks from the village and easy, frequent access to Dartmouth on the ferry. Overall a great place to stay.
