A delightful property with accommodation over three floors situated in a quiet spot in the popular coastal village of Shaldon. This fabulous cottage ticks all the boxes, just a minute's stroll to the beach and the cafes, pubs and shops close at hand.

Coastguard Cottage is light and bright with nautical furnishings and decoration. The open plan living area is perfect for socialising with family and friends, whether you’re cooking up some locally caught seafood or just chilling with a glass of wine - it’s a great spot and the heart of the house. Upstairs the three bedrooms are set over two floors (with two ensuites), again all beautifully decorated in coastal style with fresh white bedding and colourful cushions.

Ever popular Shaldon is a great place to stay - there’s something for everyone from water sports to the nearby private zoo, delightful gardens and quaint streets to explore. Perfect for picnics, paddling and relaxing. Shaldon is a quaint little fishing village opposite Teignmouth at the mouth of the River Teign, it’s easy to hop on one of the regular ferries and explore further afield. The area is popular with walkers too with the South West Coastal Path offering some fabulous coastal strolls right on the doorstep. Follow one of the nature trails, do a spot of bird watching on the river or try your hand at one of the water sports on offer. Golfing enthusiasts will enjoy the 18-hole golf course, the charming local conservation zoo is a must, as are the fabulous beaches and the Homeyards Botanical Gardens. Visit in August and join in the fun of the annual Shaldon Regatta, so be prepared to get swept up in the merriment! Children will love discovering the ancient smuggler's tunnel, the only way to access the famous Ness beach.

Guests are within a 20 minutes' drive of the lively attractions of Torquay and the surrounding area has many popular National Trust properties, beaches and coastal tourist attractions. Nearby Dartmoor also offers a dynamic day out for walking, mountain biking, wild swimming and extreme sports. It’s possible to arrive at Shaldon by public transport via Teignmouth with trains operating to Exeter, Plymouth and London and the ferry service from Teignmouth to Shaldon Beach.

Shaldon is very well connected, with road links, close proximity to Exeter Airport and easy access to the mainline train stations in Teignmouth and Newton Abbot so if you’re arriving without a car the owners are happy to collect you from the railway station is you wish.

Open plan living, kitchen and dining room: Flat screen TV, plush sofas, WiFi. Wood burning stove with a basket of logs provided. Contemporary and fully-equipped kitchen and spacious dining area with seating for 5 people.

Utility: Washer dryer under the stairs.

First floor:
Master bedroom: King size bed, en-suite bathroom fitted in natural stone, with a bathtub.

Bedroom 2: Single bed. Separate access to the master en-suite bathroom through a second door.


Second floor:

Bedroom 3: Twin beds which can convert into a king size bed upon request. Luxury en-suite shower room with a power shower.

Outside: Double doors from the living area opens out onto a pretty courtyard with table and chairs.

Parking: No parking at the property.

Facilities and Services: WiFi connection available. All bed linen and towels included. Arr/dep for weekly bookings is Saturday. Short breaks available in low and mid season. Courtyard/garden. No pets. No smoking. Close to amenities. Coastal property.


Security deposit: This property has a refundable Accidental Damage Deposit of £200, which is payable with the final balance of your holiday, eight weeks prior to your arrival, and is refunded within 5 working days of your departure. Alternatively, you may wish to pay a non-refundable Accidental Damage Deposit Waiver equivalent to 10% of the Accidental Damage Deposit value, which covers you for the full value of the Accidental Damage Deposit, should any damage occur during your stay.
