Hawks Cay is in a central location in the stylish seaside village of Shaldon, just a one minute stroll to the beach. Accommodation is over three floors, recently renovated under the keen eye of the interior designer owner. Features include slate floors with underfloor heating, spacious sitting room with large comfortable sofas, wooden dining table with grey high back wicker chairs and fabulous cream shaker style kitchen with range cooker. The coastal style continues on the first floor with 4 beautifully furnished bedrooms with 2 King size/super King size beds, a double and 2 single beds. The 2 bathrooms have roll top baths and soft fluffy towels. Outside the stylish coastal inspired garden comes complete with olive tree, potted palms and glass top wicker table and chairs. A delightful spot to relax with a little alfresco aperitif.
Hawks Cay is the ‘go to’ coastal escape just a short walk to the beach, cafes, shops and restaurants in Shaldon. The village has a butcher, baker and shops selling local produce and with some great pubs and cafes, Shaldon is earning quite a reputation as a premiere foodie destination.
Shaldon is a quaint little fishing village opposite Teignmouth at the mouth of the River Teign, it’s easy to hop on one of the regular ferries and explore further afield. The area is popular with walkers too with the South West Coastal Path offering some fabulous coastal strolls right on the doorstep. Follow one of the nature trails, do a spot of bird watching on the river or try your hand at one of the water sports on offer. Golfing enthusiasts will enjoy the 18-hole golf course, the charming local conservation zoo is a must, as are the fabulous beaches and the Homeyards Botanical Gardens. Visit in August and join in the fun of the annual Shaldon Regatta, so be prepared to get swept up in the merriment!
Guests are within a 20 minutes' drive of the lively attractions of Torquay and the surrounding area has many popular National Trust properties, beaches and coastal tourist attractions. Nearby Dartmoor also offers a dynamic day out for walking, mountain biking, wild swimming and extreme sports. It’s possible to arrive at Shaldon by public transport via Teignmouth with trains operating to Exeter, Plymouth and London and the ferry service from Teignmouth to Shaldon Beach.
Shaldon is very well connected, with road links, close proximity to Exeter Airport and easy access to the mainline train stations in Teignmouth and Newton Abbot.

Facilities and Services: WiFi connection available. Bed linen and towels provided (beach towels not provided). Arr/dep for weekly bookings is Saturday. Short breaks available in low and mid season. Parking. Gardens. Travel cot and highchair available. No pets. Under floor heating throughout the ground floor and central heating on the first and second floors.
Security deposit: This property has a refundable Accidental Damage Deposit of £350, which is payable to Marsdens Devon Cottages with the final balance of your holiday, eight weeks prior to your arrival, and is refunded within 5 working days of your departure.
I have really enjoyed staying here with the beach and bar. I loved it! The house was lovely the bed was soft. :)
