  • Spacious four-bedroom house in the heart of the unspoilt village of Shaldon
  • Renovated former pub skilfully blends Georgian charm with contemporary interior design
  • Enclosed courtyard garden with outdoor dining area and hot tub

Property code: OC-ROYSTA

Beautifully decorated and spread across three floors, this former pub has plenty of space for nine guests and two furry family members, with added extras like two snugs and a hot tub. Whether you’re holidaying with friends or family, it’s the perfect base for enjoying the stunning South Devon coast – less than 200 metres from the nearest beach, pub, and shop.

The house has been refurbished with an eye for detail and is stylish throughout. Leave your shoes and coats in the hall, with a handy downstairs cloakroom, and head to the kitchen/diner with a large Range oven and French doors that lead outside. The lounge has a fresh nautical theme with comfy seating, a wood burner-effect electric fire, and French doors to the garden. It connects to the cosy snug, with a Smart TV and DVD. Three of the four beautiful bedrooms are on the first floor: a king-size master with an en-suite bathroom, a double, and a twin (can be a super-king-size), along with the family bathroom. Bedroom four is on the second floor, featuring a king-size and a single bed, and a cosy snug with a TV, table football and bean bags to lounge on. Dine alfresco in the courtyard then relax under the stars in the hot tub. There’s also a hose for washing sandy feet and paws.

Shaldon is an unspoilt fishing village on the Teign Estuary opposite Teignmouth. Head to the beach for sailing, paddling and rock pooling, or wander through the Smugglers Tunnel to Ness Cove Beach. Catch a ferry to Teignmouth to explore the town’s cafes, bars, and restaurants. Walk along the South West Coast Path to Labrador Bay (1.5 miles) for amazing views. You can also visit Shaldon Wildlife Trust Zoo (1 mile) or Go Ape at Haldon Forest (11 miles).

What a fantastic holiday home which was like a tardis, with so much room for all of our guests. Even a friend of ours, who has a beach hut nearby, was amazed at the size, and quality of the house. We are also pleased, as my mum left behind a hearing aid that was returned without fuss.

I requested bedroom 3 to be set up as two single beds rather than one double, and my request was acknowledged in your email dated 7th February. However, this had not been done when we arrived. The two adults who had planned to occupy bedroom 3 on the first floor (one of whom has Parkinsons Disease with reduced mobility so climbing stairs is difficRead moreult) had to use the loft bedroom up another flight of stairs and use a small single child's bed. I was disappointed that the confirmed arrangements had not been actioned. Hide

This property is top class with ample supplies of towels, kitchen utensils, seating and very comfortable beds. The location is ideal for walks, eating/drinking out and a short ferry ride over to Teignmouth.

A brilliant spacious house in a fantastic location. We had a fantastic break in Shaldon with swimming every morning before breakfast and lots of BBQ's. Thanks!

We were delighted with this property and it was so well situated in Shaldon village, close to several excellent restaurants and cafes. The family very much enjoyed the hot tub too. It was perfect for access to the beach and ferry over to Teignmouth.
