Manderley is a fabulous apartment which forms part of a stylish Victorian villa on the English Riviera. This three bedroom property has been refurbished to a very high standard and offers excellent holiday accommodation for 6. The large bay windows let the light flood in to the well furnished living areas and the kitchen comes complete with all appliances you would expect from a top quality holiday home. Bedrooms are beautifully furnished with comfortable king size beds and plenty of storage for those holiday essentials.
A real feature of the property is the spacious deck, elevated on the first floor with lovely 180 degree views through the glass balustrade – a very relaxing place to sit and soak up the sun and enjoy a little alfresco dining during your stay.
Manderley is in Chelston, a popular residential area close to the railway station. The beaches of Livermead and Torre Abbey are within walking distance and the town's amenities, harbour area and the popular Living Coasts Aquarium and Zoo are also nearby.
Torquay has some good restaurants, shops and cafes and if you head further inland you'll reach the Dartmoor National Park with its rugged landscape and Moorland villages. Head up to Haytor and walk to the rocky outcrop before hiking back to the pub for lunch… the food is excellent! If you're looking for city life, it's just a 25 minute drive into Exeter, a thriving university city with beautiful cathedral, good shops and restaurants... the city has a great café culture so be sure to make time for a coffee and cake!
The apartment is accessed by a communal lobby with stairs to the apartment’s entrance on the first floor. Beyond the entrance there is a very spacious inner hallway.
Living/Dining: 2 comfortable two-seater sofas, large flat screen TV with Freeview and a DVD player, free Wi-Fi connection, stylish wooden dining table and 6 matching chairs.
Second Living Room/bedroom three: Can be used as a third bedroom. Sofa bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers and bookshelf.
Kitchen: Contemporary well fitted kitchen with gas hob, built in electric oven, microwave, built in fridge and freezer, washer/dryer and a dishwasher.
Bedrooms: Bedroom 1: King size bed, two bedside cabinets with lamps, 2 chests of drawers. Ensuite. T.V.
Bedroom 2: King size bed with two bedside cabinets, bedside lamps, 2 wardrobes.
Bathroom: Ensuite bathroom with a corner shower unit, wash handbasin and W.C.
Family Bathroom: Bath with a wall mounted shower, W.C., and wash handbasin.
Outside: Private terrace deck with sun loungers, table and chairs, parasol and glass balustrade.
Parking: There is one private car parking with room for a second car parked immediately in front of the first.
Facilities and services: WiFi connection available, sea views. Bed linen and towels provided. (Beach towels not provided.) Arr/Dep. For weekly bookings is Saturday. Short breaks available in low and mid season. Pub 0.5 miles. Shop 0.1 miles. Coast 0.1 mile. Parking. Sorry, not pets allowed. No smoking. Travel cot and highchair available. Power and heat included in the rental. Notes: Due to 2nd Living room utilising a sofa bed, we recommend that this property is best suited to 4 adults+2 children or 5 adults max.
Security Deposit: This property has a refundable Accidental Damage Deposit of £250, which is payable to Marsdens Devon Cottages with the final balance of your holiday, eight weeks prior to your arrival, and is refunded within 5 working days of your departure. Alternatively, you may wish to pay a non-refundable Accidental Damage Deposit Waiver equivalent to 10% of the Accidental Damage Deposit value, which covers you for the full value of the Accidental Damage Deposit, should any damage occur during your stay.
A beautiful spacious ,light and airy property ,and very well equipped , It felt a privilege to stay there ,simply loved it .
We really enjoyed our stay and will be back in 2020!
Can this review be added to property reviews: We can only echo earlier revews: a superb apartment in a superb location. Very spacious and very comfortable, stylish and well equipped. Only 3 minutes from Torquay railway station (for our trains to Plymouth and Exeter, both lovely journeys) and 5 minutes to seafront with frequent buses around Torbay. We only used the car for two trips; a visit to Widecombe and Dartmoor then Buckfast Abbey was delightful....as was simply relaxing on the apartment’s wonderful terrace. We have rented many houes and apartments around Britain and Europe and this is up with the very best. B and JB Durham
