Description

Staple is a beautiful hamlet in it’s own right within the village of Dartington and only a few minutes drive to the eclectic town of Totnes. Mulberry Cottage was redesigned in the 1960’s and has been beautifully renovated. With large windows, well proportioned rooms, quality appliances and quirky reclaimed features, this property will charm and delight. The front door opens onto a recently renovated french oak parquet floor hallway. From here you’ll find the kitchen, fitted with a new Smeg oven, old pine kitchen dresser and one of the most amazing work surfaces. Next to the kitchen is a very handy utility space, perfect for removing wellies after a stroll on Dartmoor or along the closeby River Dart. The dining room features a beautiful chunky wood dining table, enough to seat 8 and more. From the dining room across the hallway is the living room with a woodburner and comfy sofas. Great space to kick back with a good book and glass of wine. Upstairs you'll find four bedrooms, a family shower room and a ‘Jack and Jill’ bathroom with bath and shower. The master bedroom has a fantastic king sized bed and overlooks the thatched cottages and magnificent oak trees on the hamlet green. This bedroom has the ‘Jack and Jill’ ensuite. There is another double room overlooking the green with a cosy king sized bed, and to the rear of the house overlooking the garden, you’ll find a further double and twin bedrooms. Mulberry Cottage has a great sized garden, plenty of space for the children to play - though please be aware of the unfenced pond. 

Dartington has so much on offer. Within striking distance is a good food pub, The Cott Inn and in the heart of Dartington is the Dartington Shops with an excellent selection of boutique shops, fabulous toy shop, deli and cafe. Not also forgetting the hidden gem found within Webbers Yard - The Almond Thief. Artisan Bakery which has an excellent reputation for the best sourdough in Devon. Dartington is famously known for Dartington Hall, a beautiful Country estate, where they host many events within the Arts and Theatrical field - a great place to spend the day with the family. In just under 2 miles is the market town of Totnes, a hive of artisan and fairtrade shops and eateries plus weekly markets selling local produce from surrounding farms. For those wishing to explore South Devon's stunning coastline, Blackpool Sands is only 12 miles away and for those keen Surfers, Bantham is 17 miles away.

Security Deposit: This property has a refundable Accidental Damage Deposit of £350, which is payable to Marsdens Devon Cottages with the final balance of your holiday, eight weeks prior to your arrival, and is refunded within 5 working days of your departure. Alternatively, you may wish to pay a non-refundable Accidental Damage Deposit Waiver equivalent to 10% of the Accidental Damage Deposit value, which covers you for the full value of the Accidental Damage Deposit, should any damage occur during your stay.

Power and Heat: Central Heating throughout, heated towel rail in shower room. Bedding and Linen: Bed linen and towels are provided for your stay (Please bring your own beach towels). Baby Equipment: Travel Cot and Highchair provided (please bring own cot linen)
