The market town of Kingsbridge sits at the head of the Salcombe  ria estuary. A delightful town with  a good range of shops and cafes if you fancy a stroll and a morning coffee. Try the Crabshell on the quay, they have a woodfired oven and turn out some great pizzas! Holly Trees is just a 5 minute walk from the embankment, close to the park with tennis courts one one side and the Quay Leisure Centre in the other side… Perfect if the weather is a little inclement.

Kingsbridge is a great base for exploring further afield too. The city of Plymouth is about a 40 minute drive – head for The Hoe and the historic Smeaton’s Tower lighthouse. Explore the cobbled streets of The Barbican, with its restaurants, cafes and small shops. Be sure to find Mayflower Steps where The Pilgrim Fathers set off on the Mayflower to settle in America in 1620.

Kingsbridge is close to the surfing beaches of Thurlestone Sands and Bantham and stylish Salcombe is just a 10 minute drive away. A great place for crab sandwiches and safe child friendly beaches of North Sands and South Sands.

We had an amazing stay at the Hollytrees this summer! The house was absolutely spotless and so well equipped - we particularly enjoyed making the use of the fabulous hot tub in the evenings! The property is in a great location and the information booklet inside had fab recommendations for places to eat, drink and great activities for all of the family! Thank you so much for such a great stay - we would recommend to all of our family and friends!

Mrs B,

We had the most amazing time there and were blown away from the moment we stepped through the door, we didn't want to leave! My partner was very excited by the modern technology, we loved the fact that we could listen to the music throughout the house and in the garden. The kitchen was incredible and we loved the fact that the books and children's toys and games had been left there- it really gave a personal touch and kept our 2 year old son entertained for the duration! My mum's favorite part of Holly-trees was the larder and I have to say I thought it was a gorgeous touch as well. Perfect blend of modern and homely which can be said for the entire home. Loved the bi-folding doors, loved the finishes of the bathrooms, obviously loved the hot tub, loved the trampoline. The only thing we were disappointed about was the fact that the insurance didn't cover us for use of the fire as we would have loved to get that going! Otherwise a truly beautiful and inspiring home where we will have many happy memories of for years to come. A huge thank you to the owner for letting us stay.
