Wild Rose Cottage is a very pretty traditional detached stone cottage, tucked away in Ashprington, a delightful conservation village with 14th Century church and lovely country pub.
The cottage offers very comfortable holiday accommodation and has a delightful terraced garden, planted with an array of fragrant flowers and shrubs, winding paths and patio with seating. Wild Rose Cottage has been sympathetically restored and retains many original features which sit alongside the more modern touches including new parquet floor in the living/dining room and woodburning stove for the cooler evenings.
The property is beautifully decorated and furnished throughout. The entrance hall leads to the comfortable living room and there's a separate well fitted kitchen. Upstairs there are two bedrooms and a modern bathroom.
The owners have created a lovely private patio area with table and chairs, which is perfect for alfresco dining, throw a few coals on the barbecue and make the most of the long summer evenings.
Ashprington is close to the River Dart so it's easy to get to Dartmouth and wander around the winding streets and stop for a lunch at a café or pub. Head upstream and you’ll reach Totnes, a thriving market town with an ancient castle and some alternative shops and restaurants.

This is a gem if a property.. Dog friendly and great garden.. We travel a lot with 2 retrievers and have very high standards we look for when we look to stay in any accommodation. This did not disappoint... The village has a local pub just 4 minutes walk away and the food is excellent and fabulous walks in all directions..... The watersman arm is also on the doorstep and a 20 minute walk and you can sit outside next to the river. Lots of great places to go...... Would recommend to anyone looking for a traditional country cottage with their fur babies...... The dogs loved the garden and its fully enclosed even my retrievers who are escape artists could not get out....... Highly reccomend.
Wild Rose Cottage is in a lovely village location with a great local pub only a 100m from the cottage serving some great food and local wines and beers. There are some really nice walks from the village, if a little steep in places, to Totnes or the nearby Sharpham estate where you can do wine and cheese tasting. The beaches of Blackpool Sands, Slapton and Beesands are only a 30 to 40 minute drive away as is the picturesque town of Dartmouth for river and costal cruises. All round a great holiday property whether you just want quiet relaxation or some walking and sightseeing.
Beautiful cottage, spotlessly clean, really spacious, well equipped kitchen, lovely furnishings, remote location (with one pub in village) but a great base from which to explore the river Dart and South Devon. We loved the garden, as did our pup! Would highly recommend and hope to come back!
