Barton Farm - Umberleigh
Umberleigh Barton Farm is set in the beautiful Taw Valley, made famous by Henry Williamson’s “Tarka the Otter” and nestles in 400 acres of the most stunning Devonshire countryside on the outskirts of Umberleigh. The original farm dates back to the 9th century and two barns have been skilfully converted into high quality holiday accommodation, combining many original features with every modern comfort. Walk almost from the doorstep down to the River Taw where Herons and Kingfishers are often found on the water’s edge, or take a stroll through the woodland and catch site of Red Deer.
The nearby historic town of Barnstaple is just fifteen minutes drive away and a choice of wonderful sandy beaches are within easy reach. Meadow View and Taw Valley Cottage offer a peaceful and relaxing setting from which to explore all that North Devon has to offer and are ideal to book together for extended family and friends.
