Tarka View and Baker's Cottage, Bideford
Bideford is a real gem of town. With its good selection of pubs, restaurants and shops, as well as pretty quay, it’s a great destination in itself and is conveniently located for exploring the whole of North Devon. The pretty villages of Appledore and Clovelly and the wide golden sandy beach of Westward Ho! are all popular with surfers and within a short drive.
If you enjoy walking or cycling, the famous Tarka Trail can be picked up in Bideford beside the old bridge over the River Torridge and you can stop along the way in the beachside village of Instow, home of the North Devon Yacht Club. Boat trips to the nature reserve island of Lundy sail directly from Bideford Quay.
