Abbotsham is a lovely village offering a rural countryside feel, within striking distance of the North Devon coastline. The village is relatively small, with limited amenities, although a post office and general store are located in the village centre.
However the village enjoys quick access to some of the region’s most popular locations including, Bideford, Westward Ho! and Appledore. Bideford is one of North Devon’s biggest towns, and can provide you with a distinctive range of shops and restaurants. Westward Ho! named after Charles Kingsley’s novel is a beautiful seaside village and Appledore sits at the mouth of the Rover Torridge and revels in its maritime history.
Back in Abbotsham you can take a stroll around the village, or saunter down towards the coastline, roughly a mile away. Or if you have kids to entertain, why not visit Abbotsham’s star attraction ‘The Big Sheep’, voted Devon’s large attraction of the year. Packed with rides, events and animals, this is guaranteed to provide you with an action packed day out.
